Jacqueline Saburido

I have just read the story of Jacqueline Saburido who was terribly burned when the car she was travelling in was hit by a drunk driver. Despite her injuries Jacqueline has continued to recover from her injuries and has shown amazing strength as well as tremendous courage and a depth of character beyond someone of her years.
Her father, Amadeo, also deserves a mention for the unwavering support and tireless devotion he has shown to his daughter.
Their moving and inspirational story can be read here (you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader which can be downloaded for free here).
Reading their story really should be more than enough to put anyone off drinking and driving.
Be safe. D.

Gosh that really shows how brave some people are. What amazes me is that the drunk driver is usually ok.
Having been the passenger of a drunk driver and paying for it 30yrs on, I think there should be longer prison sentences given!

Goodness how the boys have grown, since I saw them last.

You're right, the sentences should be as those for murder. A car is as dangerous as a gun and put in the hands of a drunk is probably more lethal.

The boys are growing up quick...and they're both wonderful!!

ehmm...that shows why PAris Hilton really needed to be prisoned. they just need to learn to be sober while using the road!

Thanks for stopping by..

Don't even get me started on the subject of Paris Hilton (what exactly does it do?!). If this young woman's story makes just one person think twice it can only be a good thing.

However, my reason for posting this story was because I was amazed by her courage and bravey.

What a courageous young woman!

Drunk drivers who injure people through their actions should be charged with murder. A car is a lethal weapon and to drive one whilst under the influence of drugs or drink is, in my view, is akin to going out armed.
